GEI, EvalGender+ Launch FIME Small Awards Program to Advance Gender-Transformative Evaluation

On January 8, 2025, the Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI) and EvalGender+ launched the Feminist Innovation in Monitoring and Evaluation (FIME) Small Awards Program, which aims to advance gender-transformative practices in monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the program will offer 5,000 USD in funding to six innovative projects that demonstrate how feminist evaluation can drive progress on gender equality, inclusion, and human rights. Eligible submissions may include research papers, policy briefs, and instructional tools or training materials for capacity development.
The call for proposals is open to young and emerging evaluators who are 35 years old or younger (as of February 8, 2025), come from a developing country (including all emerging and developing economies), and hold a master’s degree or higher.
In addition to funding, awardees will join a learning community supported by GEI and EvalGender+, gaining access to monthly knowledge-sharing sessions and collaboration opportunities with international experts. This initiative is part of GEI’s mission to strengthen M&E systems and capacities in developing countries through innovative and inclusive approaches.
Applications are open until March 7, 2025. Awardees will be announced on March 31, after which they will have six months to complete their projects. Final outputs will be shared with the global evaluation community to help embed feminist principles in M&E systems and practices.
