Strategy 2.0

GEI’s Strategic Approach

GEI’s strategy focuses on strengthening how governments organize, generate, and apply evidence to inform public decisions. In a context of growing complexity—driven by climate risks, fiscal pressures, and rapid technological change—GEI works to ensure that monitoring and evaluation systems produce evidence that is credible, relevant, and usable for policy making.

GEI Strategy

GEI builds on its comparative strengths as a global platform that connects country‑level experience with shared knowledge, learning, and professional development. Through public knowledge goods, high‑quality training, and convening, GEI supports evaluation practitioners and institutions to adapt methods and approaches to their specific contexts, while promoting common standards and shared learning across regions.

At the country level, GEI supports sustained, government‑led efforts to strengthen national M&E systems, working through locally anchored partners and long‑term collaboration. By linking country engagement with global knowledge and learning, GEI helps reduce fragmentation in the evaluation field and supports public institutions that are better equipped to generate, interpret, and apply evidence over time.
