Gender and Inclusion

Gender and Inclusion

Addressing gender and social inclusion is essential to understanding what works, for whom, and under what conditions. GEI supports governments and evaluation practitioners to strengthen monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems that generate evidence attentive to gender dynamics, power relations, and intersecting forms of inequality.

Gender and Inclusion

Gender and inclusion considerations are often unevenly embedded in evaluation practice and national M&E systems. GEI works to address these gaps by supporting approaches that make power relations, participation, and how policies affect different groups more visible in evidence and learning. This includes promoting gender‑responsive and gender‑transformative evaluation methods, as well as participatory approaches that help surface perspectives that are frequently excluded from policy processes.

GEI’s work on gender and inclusion is integrated across its country engagements, training partnerships, and knowledge platforms. By strengthening the capacity of M&E systems to capture social realities and inform learning, GEI helps institutions better understand how policies affect different groups and improve how evidence is generated, interpreted, and used.
