To help address challenges faced by young and emerging evaluators, GEI offers a hands‑on internship program that strengthens practical monitoring and evaluation (M&E) skills through applied learning and mentorship.
Internship Program
Internship Program
The program exposes young evaluators to different aspects of M&E system development, supporting GEI’s objective of strengthening national M&E systems and building professional competencies. Interns gain practical experience while expanding their professional networks across regions and institutions.
The internship program was designed in collaboration with EvalYouth and other GEI partners. Launched in 2022, it welcomed its second cohort in 2023. The six‑month program is open to young evaluators with graduate degrees in relevant fields and is administered through the CLEAR centers.
Interns are selected competitively through a process led by the CLEAR centers, with priority given to graduates of local universities in low‑ and middle‑income countries. Internships are hosted across GEI’s network, including CLEAR centers in Anglophone Africa, Francophone Africa, South Asia, Central Asia, Lusophone Africa, and Brazil. The program is expanding to include national evaluation agencies, with an initial focus on Colombia, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
Information on future application cycles is shared through GEI’s website and social media channels.
