GEI Launches “BExchange” Webinar Series with a Discussion on OECD’s Recommendations of the Council on Using Evaluations for Decision-Making
GEI is proud to announce the launch of the “BExchange” webinar series. BExchange will feature panel discussions with thought leaders, decision-makers, and practitioners and will explore issues, trends, and innovations in strengthening national M&E systems in developing countries. The first installment of BExchange will focus on OECD’s recent Recommendation of the Council on Public Policy Evaluation, which focuses on promoting the use of evaluations for decision-making for their member countries.
About the webinar:
DATE: Thursday, September 21, 2023
TIME: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Eastern Time)
Ensuring that national monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems contribute to evidence-informed decision-making and ultimately improve the lives of citizens, is at the core of GEI’s support to countries. A major challenge faced by many countries – even those with robust national M&E systems – is effectively translating rigorous evaluation results into evidence that is easily understood by policy-makers, missing the opportunity to influence the next generation of policies and programs.
Recently, the OECD took decisive action to bridge this gap, approving the Recommendation of the Council on Public Policy Evaluation, the first OECD legal instrument dedicated to promoting the use of evaluations for decision-making for their member countries.
This webinar is an opportunity for you to learn about the main principles of OECD’s Recommendation and listen to the experiences of countries who are using this standard to improve the institutionalization, quality, and impact of their evaluations.
