CLEAR-LAB Launches Free Online Course in the Portuguese Language on Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies
Earlier this year, GEI Implementing Partner, the Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Lusophone Africa and Brazil (CLEAR-LAB) launched a free online course called "Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies," which included an open class by Lycia Lima, professor at the São Paulo School of Economics of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV/EESP) and Deputy Director at CLEAR-LAB. The free open class was an introduction to the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) field and took place on April 14th at 11am (Brasília time, GMT-3). The virtual class can be watched in full here.
The course is composed of recorded classes, taught by researchers associated with FGV EESP and CLEAR-LAB, and includes case studies, recommended bibliography, exercises, and its own workbook. The content is available for free and provides a participation certificate for those who complete and are approved in the modules. Over 5,300 people have already taken the course and it maintains a very positive rating of 4.9 stars (out of 5). To learn more about the course, click here.
André Portela, Director, CLEAR-LAB and professor at FGV/EESP, participated in the launch of the online course, stating that the course supports and important CLEAR-LAB objective, spreading the culture of evidence-based decision making. The new online ourse, which is available on FGV's Executive Education platform, aims to present the main concepts of the field, allowing the development of understanding about the importance of M&E for evidence-based management, as well as tools for developing a monitoring plan and knowledge about different types of evaluation.
