GEI Priority Countries
GEI works closely with developing country governments that seek to improve or strengthen monitoring, evaluation and the use of evidence in their countries. Applying our integrated systems-based approach, we provide diagnostic, technical, training, professional development, knowledge curation/dissemination and other advisory support services to help governments at every step on this journey.
GEI Activity Mapping and Data Visualization Dashboard
Understanding the scope of GEI partner activities is a key effort in increasing collaboration and reducing fragmentation within the GEI network. Consequently, one of GEI's priorities has been to identify in which countries its partners are working, what kind of activities they are implementing, and the main target groups for interventions. Data* was collected during May-November 2021. Information from this mapping exercise was piloted in an interactive data visualization dashboard available online. This dashboard will be integrated into the upcoming GEI Knowledge Platform. GEI partners will continue updating this data through the GEI’s internal data management system when it launches, which will then, in turn, populate the Knowledge Platform. By enabling portfolio analysis and identification of synergies, this dashboard will serve as a key tool to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and effectiveness.

EXAMPLES OF COUNTRY WORK
CARICOM
Through its partner CLEAR-LAC, GEI supported countries in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) with establishing a planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting system based on the principles of Results-Based Management (RBM). Through this multi-year support agreement requested by CARICOM, GEI is providing a range of advisory and training support. Most recently, a 7-session training workshop was held for the CARICOM Results-based Management Leadership Group (CRLG) for more than 70 attendees from 15 countries and several regional institutions.

Colombia
The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval), and the GEI Global team have come together under a single workplan and a unified strategic engagement with the National Planning Department of Colombia to strengthen M&E capacities and the use of evidence. This work has included the facilitation of an international peer review of a national policy document on enhancing evaluation use in Colombia by the GEI Global Team and training from 3ie on cutting-edge M&E topics, including impact evaluation, the use of big data, and quality assurance in M&E.

With support from UNDP, UNICEF and in collaboration with MASSE and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, GEI Partners have designed an advocacy plan for the implementation of Madagascar national evaluation policy. CLEAR FA and UNICEF also organized a high-level international dissemination event around Madagascar's key achievements and progress in strengthening its national evaluation system. The event mobilized key actors, such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Presidency of the Republic of Madagascar, and the National Assembly.

Asia Pacific
IPDET held a training series for parliamentarians and parliament staff from the Asia Pacific Region in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Evaluation Association, and the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation. 15 parliamentarians, 46 parliament staff and 2 government officials from 15 countries successfully completed the program.

Cote d’Ivoire
CLEAR Francophone Africa, 3ie, WACIE, and UNICEF, among others, hosted an impact evaluation conference in Cote d’Ivoire. The event focused on the role and contributions of impact evaluation in the implementation of public policies in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals, the African Union's Agenda 2063, and the need to keep Francophone Africa states on track to achieving the SDGs
