GEI Hosts Representatives from 12 Countries in Amman for Workshop on M&E in MENA
In late May, 22 individuals representing 12 national governments, namely Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE, West Bank & Gaza, and Yemen participated in a monitoring and evaluation workshop (M&E) in Amman, Jordan. Also in attendance were representatives from civil society and multilateral and bilateral development institutions/donors and event organizers including GEI’s global team, UNDP-IEO, IsDB, WFP, Saudi Fund for Development, Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) and UNICEF.
The peer-to-peer learning sessions allowed participants to exchange information on their diverse country experiences in carrying out M&E activities. Participants interacted with global experts and learned about examples, challenges, and opportunities for institutionalizing M&E practices and building National M&E Systems (NMES). Group discussions helped identify priority gaps and actions toward the collective strengthening of M&E in the MENA region.
