GEI 2.0 marks the beginning of the second phase of the Global Evaluation Initiative. The new strategy reflects lessons from the initiative’s first five years and sets out a more systematic, long‑term approach to strengthening national monitoring and evaluation systems, with a continued emphasis on country leadership, institutional incentives, and sustained use of evidence in public decision- making.
