The climate crisis demands action—action based on concrete, evidence-driven solutions. To address this global challenge, evaluation professionals must identify what works, scale successful strategies, and drive transformative change. The International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) is committed to equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to improve climate change adaptation and mitigation policies and strengthen resilience.

This year, IPDET is once again offering the Evaluation of Climate Change and Development specialized workshop as part of its On-Site Program in Bern, Switzerland. The workshop provides participants with practical tools and approaches to enhance their evaluation practices and contribute to climate-related solutions.

In 2024, 90 percent of participants in IPDET's Evaluation of Climate Change and Development workshop rated their experience as excellent or highly satisfactory. Participants explored a range of evaluation approaches and design and learned how to synthesize existing knowledge, address evidence gaps, and apply cutting-edge data collection and analysis tools. As one participant noted:

We delved deep into the intricacies of climate evaluation, exploring innovative approaches that push the boundaries of traditional methods. – Mark Mulobi, Policy Associate, Digital Principles for Development portfolio Lead, Kenya
