PIFED is an intensive training program offered to French speaking professionals, managers and public executives who commission, manage, practice or use evaluations. The aim of the program is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to influence and reinforce the evaluation function in their place of work, contributing to the emergence of good governance practices and stronger evaluative cultures. Since 2011, more than 2000 professionals from 38 countries have been trained.

The program consists of 8 modules, which provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the evaluation process and foundational knowledge about key concepts, approaches, methods and standards to conduct or supervise quality evaluations. The program combines theory and practice in a 50:50 ratio, allowing participants to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom and learn by doing.

A new innovative formula

This year’s program is offered entirely online in a new, more modern, accessible, and dynamic formula which includes live classes (synchronous, with a fixed scheduled) allowing for discussions with qualified instructor(s) and practical teamwork, and self-guided learning material (asynchronous, available through an online platform).

PIFED benefits from the financial support of Global Affairs Canada and contributes to the objectives and priorities set forth by the Global Evaluation Initiative (GEI), to which the ENAP is an associate partner.

Objectives:

  •  Situate the evaluation practice within a development context.

  • Acquire practical skills to plan, develop and manage an evaluation process.
  • Update, refresh or extend knowledge of evaluation concepts, approaches, and methodologies.

  • Understand aspects related to the mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues, for example the integration of a gender perspective and sustainable development, into the evaluation of development interventions.

Scholarships:

Full scholarships (covering the entire program tuition fee, a value of $4 600 CA) and partial scholarships ($1 000 CA, applicable on tuition fee) are available for eligible applicants.
