Tinni Sawhney | Chief Executive Officer | Tinni Sawhney has over 35 years of experience on sustainable livelihood development in rural India and has worked extensively on issues of regenerative, climate resilient agriculture and livestock development for smallholder farmers. She has also worked on strengthening gender perspectives in development and building robust community institutions to lead development processes. She is currently the Chief Executive of the Aga Khan Foundation (India). Prior to this, she was the Head of Programmes at AKF (India) leading and providing strategic direction to a diverse portfolio of programmes across the sectors of agriculture, climate resilience, early childhood development, education, health, nutrition, water and sanitation. She has previously worked with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s South Asia Pro Poor Livestock Policy Programme, the Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA) and the World Wide Fund for Nature. |
Kavita Devi | Pashu Sakhi, Village Simri Basant, District Muzaffarpur | Kavita Devi is a pashu sakhi providing preventive health services to over 260 households in her village. She is a successful entreprenuer charging a fee for her services. From earning no income, she now earns an average of Rs.12,000/ month. Kavita Devi will share her experience as a pashu sakhi and how her work has changed her life and her standing in the community. |
