About the Event
Food systems worldwide are facing unprecedented challenges that demand multistakeholder collaboration in creating synergies and dealing with trade-offs of systems change. Addressing these challenges requires cross sectoral and multi-level planning, monitoring, and evaluation (PME) processes and systems. This webinar, the first out of a series of three, focuses on the planning process of an PME system supporting complex collaboration and change. The webinars will explore 5 key suggestions or ‘hacks’ for making PME systems supportive of complex change.
Effective planning lays the foundation for robust PME systems. The act of planning involves agreeing on goals, strategies, and roles, as well as on resources and risks — elements that are critical for tracking trends and progress and evaluating contribution to change. The webinar facilitates a panel reflecting on 5 ‘hacks’ for PME systems for systems change, including a focus on actors, embracing uncertainty, dealing with multiple scales, working collectively, and adapting the PME processes. Food system experts from different contexts will reflect on the these elements and share practical insights in the planning process of complex, multistakeholder strategies and programmes.
Together with the participants we will be discussing if and how the hacks are helpful in developing shared objectives, aligning stakeholder interests, and anticipating challenges—all of which are critical to ensuring that interventions are not only designed effectively but also remain flexible and adaptable throughout the change process they support.
Target Audience:
This webinar is designed for professionals and practitioners involved in food systems, sustainable development, and PME of complex change. It will be especially relevant for those working on the design and planning of interventions aimed at transforming food systems to be more sustainable, resilient, and equitable.
Keywords: Food Systems, Transformation, Planning, PME system, Multistakeholder processes, Adaptive planning, Sustainability, Actor Perspectives, Uncertainty.
