About the Event

In the pursuit of sustainable development, evaluations must evolve beyond mere compliance and accountability to become a catalyst for inclusion and innovation. This session will explore how case study methodologies can be utilized not only to assess impact but also to strengthen sustainability and promote local ownership of the changes being pursued. Using the Faranani Infrastructure Project (FIP) of the Trevor Noah Foundation as a central case study, we will examine how a participatory, narrative-based impact assessment uncovered deeper insights into enhancing sustainability and fostering community ownership of the intervention's impact. The session will demonstrate how the case study method allowed stakeholders to view themselves as co-owners of the change. Participants will learn how this approach transitioned from simple documentation to strategic engagement and how it supported locally driven sustainability by revealing context-rich insights and amplifying community voices.
