About the Event
Objective: To suggest ways to establish an M&E unit in an organization. That includes creating an atmosphere for data driven decision making within the organization and sensitizing the internal stakeholders on the importance of M&E activities and the necessity of having an independent M&E unit that can suggest ways to design and implement the program in a logical manner.

This panel discussion/round table will bring in perspectives from professionals having experience in setting up M&E units in different organizations. The discussion will specifically focus on Climate Change and Environment with an approach to strengthen the capacities of professional and internal stakeholders on M&E. The discussion will focus on the following points:
Setting the tone on the necessity of having an M&E unit and the growing relevance of Climate Change and Environment in the development sector.
What are the key elements required for setting up an M&E unit in an organization and how do we negotiate to get these key elements integrated into the M&E unit/system.
How do we lay a foundation stone for the proposed M&E unit by taking into confidence all the internal stakeholders.
How do we regularly build the capacity of M&E professionals by keeping them aware of the current M&E practices in place both nationally and globally to borrow such learnings and improvise on the M&E practices.

Perwinder Singh | M&E and Research Lead, Sanjhi Sikhiya | Perwinder has 19 years of experience in Research and M&E. He has led and managed Evaluations, Data Systems, and Processes for programme monitoring and learning. He has assessed, co-designed and capacitated government monitoring and evaluation systems in India, Uganda and Bangladesh. Prior to joining Sanjhi Sikhiya, he was heading Impact function at Magic Bus for India and Bangladesh. Prior to Magic Bus, he worked with STiR Education as Lead Senior Manager, M&E. He has also worked with organizations such as J-PAL, Pratham, IFMR, and IIMs in research capacities. |
