From Coordination to Collaboration: Strengthening Evaluation Capacities Across Latin America and the Caribbean

Roundtable | Online

About the Event

Objective
The roundtable aims to start a dialogue among key Evaluation Capacity Development (ECD) actors working in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) conducive to regional planning of ECD activities based on each actor’s comparative advantages.

Description
LAC is a region where international development actors implement ECD training and technical support initiatives. Some of these actors are interested in particular fields, but all have the common mission of developing monitoring and evaluation capacities and systems. These efforts could benefit from coordination to find complementarities and avoid duplicities. Building on the significant efforts of DEval and WFP, actors have an opportunity to advance toward regional planning of ECD activities with a division of labor that leverages each organization's comparative advantage.
This roundtable will allow international organizations with an ECD mandate to share their experiences, ongoing initiatives, and challenges. Participants will collaboratively explore ideas for improving regional cooperation and discuss strategies to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and complementarity of their ECD efforts.
