About the Event

This two-hour session will provide an introduction to key M&E concepts and practical tools for teams working on environmental, agricultural, and water-related projects in the Dominican Republic. Participants will gain an initial understanding of M&E terminology and how indicators are used to support project monitoring and contribute to more effective, sustainable development outcomes.

Ethel Mendez Castillo Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Ethel Mendez is an M&E Specialist at the World Bank’s GEMS Initiative. She has advised numerous institutions in the Americas and beyond on M&E best practices and has helped them leverage the power of technology to advance the use of data. She holds an MPA from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service.
María Garrido Anllo Operational Support Specialist María Garrido is part of the leadership team in the Geo-Enabling Initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) in the WBG. She leads its engagement in LAC and the Lusophone Countries in Africa. When she joined the WB in 2018 she worked as an analyst for Agriculture projects. Before this, she worked as an international trade advisor. María holds a MBA in International Management.
